I had no idea what to draw to incorporate all of the different things that we learned. We've learned so much so far! This is what I came up with.
Different Object Types: I used the rectangle tool for the chalkboard and ledge, the oval tool for the chair back and seat and the table top and bottom, the oval primitive tool for the wheels on the chair, with their inner radius modified to 31.11. I chose to keep most of the shapes in their original forms, and not merge the objects. Merging would be useful if you wanted a more complex looking shape than a circle or a rectangle or if you wanted to edit the shapes together.
Pen Tool & Bezier Curves: I used the pen tool so I could distort some of the shapes in the drawing. I used the Bezier curves to shape the clouds in the window, to help form the petals on the flowers in the vase, to reshape my face, and to manipulate the shape of the vase from an oval to make it look better. I had to use the pen tool to add more points on both the clouds and the vase to get the shape I wanted. I removed excess points.
Text: The text I used was just input text made to look like chalk writing on the board. I had to change the behavior of the text to “multiline” so that it would show up on three lines, as well as set the alignment to centered. The font I chose was Apple Casual.
Gradient Objects: There are three gradient objects in my drawing: the sun, the clock on the wall, and the vase on the table. I modified the clock’s gradient focal point. The colors in the clock are #FFFFFF & #2F2F2F. The colors in the sun are #D25A0B & #D6E927. The colors in the vase are #0000FF & #000000. I used the gradient transform tool to change the concentration of the sun's gradient. Also, I used the color stop tools on all of my gradients to adjust the colors to my liking.
Pencil and Brush Objects: A lot of my drawing was created using the brush tool. I changed the shape and size of the brush when necessary. Most of the time, I used a .10 to 4.00 stroke.
Deco and Spray Tools: The grid pattern on the back wall was done with the deco, grid fill tool. The pattern that is on the carpet is a symbol that I created with the brush tool. I drew three X’s in different colors, combined them, resized them using the Free Transform tool, resized them, made them into a symbol then used the deco tool to fill in the carpet space.
Transform Tools: I used the Free Transform to resize a lot of my drawings. I used it the most to draw the flowers in the vase. I drew the center circle, then drew a flower petal and modified it with Bezier curves. When I was happy with it, I copied it a bunch of times, then used the free transform tool to rotate and place the petals. After they were placed on the first flower, I resized the flower to 20% of the size it was when I drew it, copied it a few times and then relocated the flowers to the vase.
Great Job, Jessica!!!! You must be loving your new MAC!
ReplyDeleteThanks Sue! I really do love it! It's so much faster than my older PC! :D
